what we do
Check Out Some of the Things We Do

NCHS rescues small animals and rabbits, and Bettina is our foster mother for all of them. Adopted rabbits have to remain indoors at all times. Bettina can be reached at bigel1234@comcast.net if you're interested in surrendering/adopting a rabbit or small animal.

We work with abandoned, shy or feral cats to get them socialized for great new homes after they've been to the vet for spay/neuter and shots. In some instances they do remain under NCHS care for life if not adoptable.

NCHS has a SENIOR program for senior cats with senior citizens. Many of the cats surrendered come from homes where the owner has passed away and the cat has lived with just one person for many years. NCHS is here to help senior citizens with vet care, food and supplies when needed for their pets.

NCHS does NOT participate in a spay neuter release program. All cats trapped outdoors remain indoors once under NCHS care. We feel that these cats deserve a protected life indoors away from the elements and wildlife. The indoor care that NCHS provides makes the donation of property, including a house, crucial to our rescue efforts. Cats would be able to live in these donated homes with caretakers.
